We visited TeamLab Planets TOKYO ! My kids were very interested in the experience of being immersed in a never-before-seen artwork and enjoyed it very much. To help you enjoy your experience at TeamLab Planets even more, we have compiled a list of what to wear, how long it takes, how crowded it is, and what you should know in advance.
What is TeamLab Planets TOKYO ?

Recommended Clothing
TeamLab Planets has artwork that is knee-deep in water, so we recommend wearing short pants or clothing that can be easily rolled up. However, since many of the artworks have mirrored floors, you should be careful if you wear skirts, but short skirts are not recommended, although you can wear half pants underneath since they are available for free.
Children, especially, are advised to wear shorter shorts as they will be knee-deep in the water.
Because towels are provided at the exit of the works that get wet with water, You do not need to provide your own towels!
Luggage lockers available
The only belongings you can bring inside the venue are your phone and camera. And you will enter the venue barefoot. Therefore, you will have to leave your baggage and shoes in a locker.
Lockers are available in the following two sizes. Luggage exceeding these sizes cannot be checked in, and must be managed with a wire lock at the stroller storage area.

Good things to bring
Smartphone Shoulder strap
Since there are areas of water and sitting at TeamLab Planets, I wore a phone strap to prevent it from falling, but I was able to concentrate on the artwork with peace of mind.
Change of clothes(just to be sure)
In the water area, small children will be knee-deep in the water, so it is safe to prepare a change of clothes just in case “my hem got a little wet and I need to change! It is a good idea to have a change of clothes just in case.
Required Time
The actual time required to visit TeamLab Planets was roughly one hour!
TeamLab Planets consists of two areas, the Water Area and the Garden Area, which are visited in a certain order. In the Water Area, there are 6 exhibits, and in the Garden Area, there are 2 interactive exhibits. It took about an hour for my child and I to visit the water area and the garden area. I thought we could spend more time in the “Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers” area, where you can just sit or lie down and look around.
In the garden area, “Floating Flower Garden: Flowers and I have the same root, garden and I are one” had a fixed viewing time with a changeover system.
Congestion situation
We went on a Saturday. There was a bit of a line at the entrance, but once inside, it was not that crowded and I was able to tour around comfortably. If you want to take photos in a less crowded environment, it would be better to visit on a weekday, but I don’t think you need to worry even on weekends and holidays.
What you should know in advance
Use the restroom before entering the “water area”.
Once you enter the “water area,” you will not be able to use the restroom until you leave, so it is recommended that you finish in advance. Restrooms are available after the water area and before going to the garden area.
I recommend eating lunch at Toyosu station or Ichiba-mae station, etc.
There are really no eating and drinking facilities around Shin-Toyosu station. There is not even a convenience store, so we recommend that you eat at the neighboring Toyosu Station or Ichiba-mae Station.
Incidentally, TeamLab Planets also has a vegan ramen restaurant called Vegan Ramen UZU Tokyo, which specializes in vegan ramen from Kyoto. However, the menu is only ramen (1,800 yen per bowl), which is quite expensive for people with children, so we ate at Toyosu station before heading there.
There is an interactive experience in the works with the app.
The last water area, “Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers,” allows visitors to use the TeamLab app to fly butterflies onto the screen. However, since the explanation is given after you leave the artwork, I got the impression that not many people were doing it. It is a very enjoyable experience, so we recommend installing the app and giving it a try!
The “Moss Garden of Resonating Microcosms” shines only after sunset.
The work is called “Moss Garden in Corresponding Microcosm – Solidified Colors of Light, Sunrise and Sunset” in the garden area, but the egg shapes shine only after sunset. If you want to see it glowing, make a reservation for night time.
